- "Rice's Stereoscopic Views" of the east front of the mansion at Mount Vernon. Mounted on yellow board. View shows the dilapidated state of the house with ship masts stabilizing the piazza roof. Several people pose on the lawn, piazza and porch. Photograph taken in 1858 - see glass negative [R-221 ; EV-1007c]. Rice immigrates to the U.S. (from Nova Scotia) and arrives in D. C. in 1861 so he is not the photographer. Stereograph was published at a later date. Published by M. P. Rice, Stereoscopic Emporium, No. 520 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D. C.
