Stereoscopic view of the "Washington Oak" on the Mount Vernon estate. A man stands to the trunk for scale. Mounted on orange board. The photographer's imprint on the front of the card reads, N. G. Johnson, Photographer, 426 7th St., Washington D. C. Only Authorized Publisher of Mount Vernon Views. A printed label affixed the reverse reads: The "Washington Oak." A magnificent primitive Oak, measuring 12 feet in circumference, and over 200 years old. It was a favorite tree of Washington's and under which he often rested. N. G. Johnson, Photographer, 426 7th St., Washington, D. C.
