Albumen print on carte de visite mount, full-length portrait of Louis de Geofroy in photographer's studio. Signed on the reverse - 'M. Louis de Geofroy, August 1861.' Additional notes in pencil read: "later married Kate Riggs, dau.[daughter] of GWR [George Washington Riggs]. 1861 - Chargé d'Affaires French Legation, Wash. D. C. Later minister to Japan."
