Black and white photographic image of the steamboat the Charles Macalester transporting passengers along the Potomac River. The steamboat, built in 1890 and named after the father of the second regent of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association Lily Lytle Macalester Berghmans, provided service between Mount Vernon and Washington until 1930.
