Three women posed on the south porch of the Mount Vernon Mansion. While the visitors are unidentified, the photograph descends through the Lee family so likely there are family members present. Also visible are othe visitors on the south colonnade. At far left is the entrance to the "old lunchroom" a temporary structure (1876-1885) used to feed visitors at Mount Vernon. Lunch service was suspended by the Association in 1885. Photograph taken by 'official photographer to the Association' Luke C. Dillon. Mounted on cardboard with printed text: Home of Washington Mount Vernon, Va. Luke C. Dillon, Photographer, Washington D. C., Office, 935 Penn. Avenue, Pullman's Gallery.
