Stereoscopic view of the 'Washington Carriage' at the International Exhibition, Philadelphia, celebrating the 100th anniversary of America's independence. Mounted on cream colored board. This coach actually belonged to Washington's Philadelphian acquaintences Samuel and Elizabeth Powel and is likely a near duplicate of the coach owned by Washington as both vehicles shared the same coach maker. Publisher's imprint on the front of the card reads: Centennial Photographic Co., Philad'a, International Exhibition, 1876. On the reverse: Sold by Philadelphia proprietors, Edward L. Wilson and W. Irving Adams.
