- Stereoscopic view of Bushrod Washington's earthen or pise greenhouse built adjacent to Washington's original greenhouse (partially destroyed by fire in 1835). To the right of the photograph you can see a portion of the upper garden wall. The greenhouse as well as the surrounding structures are in a state of disrepair. Photograph was taken by James Cremer (Philadelphia), c. 1860. Mounted on cream board. A label adhered to the reverse of the cardboard mount reads: James Cremer, Publisher of Stereoscopic Views, 18 South Eighth St, Philadelphia. Stereoscopes and Views, Wholesale and Retail.
