Photographic print on cabinet card mount of upholstered arm chair that once belonged to Mary Ball Washington, mother of George Washington. Two labels adhered to the reverse reads: The Chair in which General Washington was Nursed by His Mother, Now in Possession of a Well Known Alexandrian. Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1889, by D. H. Naramore, in the Office of the Librarian of Congress, at Washington D. C. Copies for sale by D. H. Naramore, 321 King Street, Alexandria, Va.; Leet Brothers, Washington Souvenir Co. 1337 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D. C. Adjoining Washington Post Building. Chair acquired by Mount Vernon in 1910 [W-152].
