- Cabinet card of the north wall in the Lafayette room at Mount Vernon. The view includes the fireplace, a portion of the bedstead, a spinning wheel, and other furnishings. Contrary to the attribution on the reverse of the card, the slant-front writing desk was given to Mount Vernon with a history of having been owned by George Washington. A guest chamber in Washington's time, containing furniture used by Washington at his Headquarters at Morristown, N. J., including his writing desk.
