The view includes the fireplace, room furnishings including Washington's terrestrial globe positioned in the northwest corner of the room. An smudged ink stamp on the reverse reads: Luke C. Dillon, Photographer to Mount Vernon, Office at Pullman's Gallery, No. 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D. C.
