A caption on the reverse reads: Malmesbury, England____George Washington's Birthday is observed in England by a Cherokee Indian, Cpl. Harold H. Cochran of Catoosa, Oklahoma, who examines the monument of a Washington ancestor, Sir Lawrence Washington, buried in this six-century old Garsden Church in 1643. The Washington coat-of-arms is at the top of the monument.
