- Black and white photograph of Boys Scouts visiting Mount Vernon during the National Scout Jamboree. The inaugural jamboree was held in Washington, D. C. from June 30 - July 9, 1937. Originally, scheduled for 1935 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Boy Scouts, the event was delayed for two years due to a polio epidemic. A Wilson Line boat arrives at the Mount Vernon wharf carrying 22, 351 Boy Scouts. The photograph is mounted to cardstock.
