Black and white photographic print of the Prince of Wales planting a tree (English Yew) at Mount Vernon. Mount Vernon's Resident Superintendent stands at far left, Charles Simms guard at the tomb (African American man) stands nearby. The Prince is bent over digging and is assisted by a crouched member of his party. The photographer's stamp appears on the reverse and a handwritten note: 'H.R.H. [His Royal Highness] Prince of Wales, planting an English Yew at Mt. Vernon, 1919.'
