- Photographic print of Charles Simms, a tomb guard for the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, standing near the southeast corner of Washington's tomb. Handwritted notes on the reverse read: April 1915, Charles Simms, Guard at Tomb. Simms served in this role from 1913-1924. The photograph was reproduced in Harrison Dodge's book, "Mount Vernon, its owner and its story," 1932.
