Touch-ups have been made to the photo's surface. A stamp on the reverse indicates the photo was run in the Detroit Times. A clipped newspaper caption reads: Historic Mt. Vernon, the estate of George Washington--whose birth the nation celebrated yesterday-is shown as it looks from the air. This unusual photograph was made from an American Airlines plane flying low over the beautiful home to which Washington's thoughts always turned during his strenuous years as leader of the Revolutionary Army.
