Black and white photograph of the before and after of grading to parking area near the entrance of Mount Vernon. Severall sheds or houses were also removed as part of the improvements. A typed caption reads, "Above shows result of the grading near the Entrance Gate, and improvement gained by removing unsightly houses. Note how the ridge (lower left) is flattened and our 'Corner' raised, forming a 4-foot Terrace along curve as far as indicated by wire fence starting in foreground. The fence is for temporary protection of the sodded embankment and grass-sown surface back of same." Photographs adhered to paper.
