A.L.S. 2 pages. Mount Vernon. Have shirts, neck handkerchiefs & ruffles made from linen an cambrick left at Snow's store--to have been made at Mt. V. but G.W. having new "recruit" made for himself, so "I therefore told Mrs. Washington that I could not get any linnen which I liked-that was a lie Snow, but yet it did not hurt me to tell it so much as it would to have delayed anything which was doing for the Genl."--Peter to pick up Lear's shoes--"Has [Hooff ?] paid or protested by bill upon him?" Autograph letter signed, integral cover, laminated, docketed, watermark.
