A.L.S. Washington. Fears it necessary to call meeting of Vice Regents re turning Mount Vernon over to Government. Charter states property reverts to Virginia if Association gives it up. Mount Vernon not yet quite paid for. G.W. Riggs had no direct settlement of E. Everett fund, doubtless Everett fund more than adequate. Mrs. Riggs favors present method of administering Mount Vernon, need to meet current expenses for coming year. Mrs. Mitchell may give personally. Expects Miss Tracy next week. ER-17, p. 120
