Describes unexpected visit of Prince Napoleon and escort, serving him lemonade, a luncheon, providing for Prince's rest, providing mules for their carriage trip back to Alexandria. Receives Mrs. Chace's reply to Fourney article. Difficulties with mail. Rec'd letter from E. Everett. Mary McMakin has offer of teaching position.
