In the Grand Torch Light procession (1000 torches) saw banner "Mount Vernon the Golden Link of the Union". E. Everett's speeches will doubtless go forward. Thinks Tenn. bound for Union. Suggest Prince of Wales might contribute. Has written between 1000-2000 letters for Mount Vernon, and willing to write 1000 more. ER-10, p. 217
