Brown, upon Mr. Riggs' advice--asks his advice on keeping the matter quiet--the wretched man has escaped--only Mrs. Ritchie, Miss Hamilton and Mrs. Eve have been told of the affair--Miss Cunningham's distress over the matter prevents any mental exertion now--she has gone to Cape May.
