Biographical / historical:

Commander Clifford L. J. Wade grew up in Ohio and graduated from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). He commissioned into the United States Navy and became a Naval Flight Officer, spending 21 years of his 27 year career outside of the continental United States (Hawaii, Bermuda, Japan, Spain, and England). His last duty station was at the Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) unit at Virginia Military Institute.
