Lieutenant Colonel Russell Rivers graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1982 and commissioned in the United States Air Force. He received his Naval Aviator wings in 1984. Rivers has flown several type/model/series aircraft, ranging from turboprop trainers to rotary wing and jet aircraft, accumulating over 3600 hours of flight time as of this interview date.
