Biographical / historical:

Stephen D. Patchin grew up in Wisconsin and joined the United States Navy in 1958 at the age of 18. He served until 1979 in the field of aviation maintenance. After his retirement from the Navy, he continued to work in naval aviation mechanics and planning as a civilian contractor.
