Biographical / historical:

Donald B. Holt enlisted in the United States Navy in 1971 and after boot camp trained in electronics and nuclear power. He served as a reactor operator on the submarine USS Billfish (SSN 676), and subsequently was an instructor in a nuclear power training unit. Holt received his honorable discharge in 1979 after serving almost nine years.
