Blair P. Turner commissioned into the United States Navy on April 10, 1970 as a Surface Warfare Officer. He served two overseas deployments during the Vietnam War (1970-1971), and was assigned to the USS Windham County (LST 1170). Turner left active duty in 1973, remaining in the Reserve through 1975. At the time of this interview he was a Professor of History at the Virginia Military Institute.
