Alfred St. Clair was born in Bedford County, Virginia in 1918. He was drafted into the United States Army in July 1941 and served until the end of World War II. He was with the Fifth Army in England, North Africa, and Italy, including the Battle of Anzio (Italy). He is the recipient of the Purple Heart.
