Arthur Schintzel is a decorated veteran of World War II and the recipient of two Purple Hearts. He was drafted in 1942 and served in Europe with the United States Army 16th Infantry, First Infantry Division. He took part in the Normandy, France invasion on D-Day and was seriously wounded in action.
