Biographical / historical:

Robert Moberg joined the United States Marine Corps in April 1943. After initial assignments, his unit was sent to Camp Tarawa, Hawaii, to join the 5th Marine Division and train for the invasion of Japan. He was enroute to Japan when World War II ended, and went into Japan as part of the occupation forces.
