Biographical / historical:

Guy B. Burnette was born in 1921 in North Carolina and was drafted in 1942. After training, his unit was stationed in Hawaii for island defense, and after the atomic bombs were dropped on Japan, he was sent there for occupation duty. Following World War II, Burnett returned to North Carolina where he raised a family and was a farmer and construction worker.
