Ernest A. Andrews was born in 1923 in Tennessee and was drafted into the United States Army in 1943. He served in the 16th Infantry, H Company, First Infantry Division (Big Red One) until the end of the World War II, and was in combat at Normandy, and in the Rhineland, Central Europe, and Ardennes, France.
