My darling Sister:
It was my intention to start to see you today but both Uncle Jimmy & Aunt Mint think it best for me to remain and not undertake the trip too soon. As you may suppose I am very weak & could not so all the way to Mt. Solon in one day if I were to start now. My health is tolerable. Rest assured that I will come just as soon as possible. My anxiety to see you cannot be expressed. Give my best love to all. I arrived here Saturday night. I send this by Mr. Goodman who goes to Staunton after his daughter. Good Bye until we meet up- will I hope be very soon.
Your fond & devoted Bro.
James
