The Farmville Herald, volume 34, July 11, 1924; contains several articles that mention Hampden-Sidney College: "A Community of Excellent School Facilities" (article also mentions T. J. McIlwaine), "Hampden- Sidney College has Long and Enviable Record of One Hundred and Forty- Eight Years Service."
