Letter from James T.B. Romayne to Col. Thomas Aspinwall, written on November 7, 1816. The letter expresses Romayne's disappointment in the attempt to court martail General Edmund Pendleton Gaines, for Gaines was considered a hero for actions taken at Sackets Harbor and at the Battle of Fort Erie.
