Includes materials documenting the personal and professional accomplishments of Fred Wyant, Jr. Series 1, comprised solely of digital scans of original content, includes binders, scrapbooks, and memorabilia retained throughout Wyant's life. There are materials relating to his early life, like childhood report cards; athletic achievements, like news clippings, game programs, and WVU Sports Hall of Fame correspondence; professional records, like NFL Official contracts and correspondence; and additional items relating to Wyant's death and memorial service. Series 2, comprised solely of audiovisual materials, includes recordings of 5 West Virginia University football games from the period when Wyant was on the team.

Frederick Mount "Fred" Wyant, Jr. (1934-2021) was a native of Weston, West Virginia and a professional football on-field official. He played as the starting quarterback for West Virginia University from 1952 to 1956, and he later played in both the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). Wyant spent most of his career working as a game official for the NFL. He retired from officiating in 1993, and in 1994, he was inducted into the West Virginia University Sports Hall of Fame.
