    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Lucinda Ebersole (1956-2017) was a writer and editor of various literary works. She penned and edited several books, including the Mondo series about famous actors and celebrities, as well as her novel <title><part>Death in Equality</part></title> (1997), and <title><part>Malaga</part></title> (2023) published posthumously by Paycock Press.  She worked alongside Richard Peabody as co-editor of <title><part>Gargoyle Magazine</part></title> for some years, and she also owned and operated Atticus Books, an antiquarian bookstore in Washington, D.C. Ebersole's passion for cooking and baking led to the creation of her blog, Cookbook of the Day, as well as another blog about various matters, Lucindaville.</p>  </bioghist>

    <head>Scope and Contents</head>
<p>Collection includes business records, personal papers, photographs, and artifacts of Lucinda Ebersole, writer and editor, pertaining to herself and her bookstore, Atticus Books. Business records and personal papers include a few photographs of Ebersole and others, book release information, book sales and other receipts, pamphlets, and other notes (Boxes 1-3). Also included are two photograph albums, which primarily contain pictures (circa 1980-2000) from events at Atticus Books (Box 6). Other highlights include vintage and modern postcards of West Virginia and the U.S. South (Box 1, Folders 1, 5-7), various recipes (Box 1, Folders 2 and 4; Box 3, Folder 1), a Confederate Georgia bank note (Box 2, Folder 4), a signed letter by actress Eva Le Gallienne (Box 2, Folder 8), and a self-portrait by Ebersole (Box 1, Folder 10). Artifacts include many cooking and baking items, such as rolling pins for different pastas (Box 4), Ebersole's cake box, a pudding mold, painted recipe box, and other personal items (Box 5). Oversize Folder 1 contains a matted folk-art photograph and several poems.</p>  </scopecontent>
