 Scope and Contents

Meeting minutes of the West Virginia University Council of Administration, 1915 to 1964, and meeting minutes for the West Virginia University Academic Council for November, 1965 to May, 1966.

Original accession includes meeting minutes of the West Virginia University Council of Administration from November 1915 to January 1962 organized in chronological order. Reel I opens with an alphabetical index of subjects and corresponding dates. Major topics include academic affairs (academic calendar, entrancement requirements, departments, courses of study, curriculums, and the catalogue); social affairs (athletics and student clubs, particularly fraternities and sororities); the military (credits, enlistment, defense, and World War II); and the operation of the university (rules and regulations for academic and student life). Reel I contains minutes from 1915 to 1954 and reel 2 contains minutes from 1955 to 1962.

Addendum of 2017/05/25 includes typed meeting minutes of the West Virginia University Council of Administration, 1936 to 1964, and meeting minutes for the West Virginia University Academic Council for November, 1965 to May, 1966.
