      <head>Biographical/Historical Information </head>
      <p>John Bankhead Magruder (May 1, 1807 – February 19, 1871), a native of Port Royal, VA,
                submitted this requisition during his time as a general for the Confederate Army.
                Magruder had previously served in the US Army, and would later serve with the
                Imperial Mexican Army. He is known for his efforts in the 1862 Peninsula Campaign
                and in successfully defending Galveston, Texas, against the Union Army and Navy
                early in 1863. </p>
