Biographical/Historical Information

During the Revolutionary era, Philadelphia's Independence
Hall was commonly known as the State House of the Province of
Pennsylvania. It was constructed between 1732 and 1756. The
Second Continental Congress held their meetings in the State
House during the Revolution, and in 1787, delegates gathered
in the Assembly Room to write the United States
Constitution.
