    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Collection contains a single legal document signed by Benning Wentworth (1696-1770). The document advocates for the interests of a military widow, who claims to have never recieved the subsistence payments for her husband's service during the War of Jenkins' Ear. The war, which lasted from 1739-1748, arose between Britain and Spain. It was fought in New Granada and the Caribbean Sea and ended in an eventual defeat for the British forces.</p>  </bioghist>
