    <head>Content Description</head>
<p>A scrapbook compiled by a young African American soldier serving with the United States Army in Vietnam around 1970. The man is referred to as "Bro" [Brother] Scott by the five friends who signed the inside of the album's front cover. The album cover is green and reads "Memory of South Viet-nam." Below the lettering is a drawing of a farmer plowing a field with a team of oxen, and a simple outline map of Vietnam with several named cities.</p><p>Inside, the scrapbook holds seventy-eight photographs, and one Christmas card. There are 21 additional photographs that were loose and wedged in the front cover. The images include pictures of planes, beaches, vehicles, military buildings, musical performances, and men at rest in their barracks. Men are shown posing with one another, trucks, photos of girls, weapons, alcohol, and cigarettes. </p><p>Content warning for nudity, weapons of war.</p>  </scopecontent>
