<p>William Ivey Long is 5-time Tony winning costume designer for Broadway, television, and film productions.</p><p>Long is the son of Mary and William Ivey Long, Sr., a Winthrop University professor. Long attended the College of William and Mary graduating in 1969.     <head>Scope and Contents</head>
<p>The collection includes four sketches of costumes by William Ivey Long including two dresses for the character Edna Turnblad in <emph render="italic">Hairspray</emph>, one sketch from <emph render="italic">The Producers</emph>, and another sketch of costumes from the ballet <emph render="italic">The Blue Necklace</emph>. The collection also includes photographs, a fabric sample of from Edna Turnblad's Pucci dress, and other items.</p>  </scopecontent>
