Martin L. Duda was a son of a tin mill woker from New Castle, Pennsylvania and served in the U.S. Army during the last few months of World War II in Germany. He was recalled to service in 1950 as tensions in Korea escalated. Duda was married to Phyllis Lucille Duda.
