<p>Papers, 1778-1908, of the Turner family of "Orapax," New Kent County, Virginia which include references to John P. Turner, John D. Turner, and Louisa B. Turner. Some of the letters describe the effects of the Civil War on civilians. The collection also includes correspondence of the related Robinson family, specifically of Benjamin Robinson and Lucy H. Robinson of King William County, Virginia. There is a letter, 1870, and receipts, 1876 and 1882, which concern a loan from John D. Turner to the College of William and Mary.</p>  </scopecontent>

Two extracts from a memorial filed in the office of Wilson Allen, Clerk of the General Court, 1803 June 27. One is an entry of a deed of bargain and sale from William Armistead and J. Dandridge, executors of Bartholomew Dandridge to Richmond Allen, proved 14 July 1785. The other mentions that Dandridge sold to Henry Southall 146 acres of land which is supposed by Mr. Allen to be that held by Mr. Wilcox in New Kent County, Virginia. 1 piece.</p><p>Land deed from Elizabeth Rebecca Allen to John H. Christian of New Kent County, Virginia. 1822 March 25. Presented at a monthly court held for New Kent County, Virginia, 1822 March 25, proved by the oaths of William Slater, Gideon C. Memorandum of an agreement made and entered into the 5th day of July 1833 between James Carradus and James Semple, Jr. 1833 July 5. The said agreement is one establishing a line between a farm called Rockahock and Orapakes, a farm occupied by Semple. 1 piece.
