Biographical / Historical
Thomas Staples Martin was born in Scottsville, Va. July 29, 1847. He served in the Virginia Military Institute Corps of Cadets in the Civil War. He practiced law and was elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate and served until his death November 12, 1919.
