    <head>Biographical Information:</head>
<p>Alma Clarke Fontaine was born in St. Augustine, Florida. She lived in her youth in New Rochelle, New York. She graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1931, where she was affiliated with Chi Omega. She married Robert L. Fontaine in 1932 and they made their home in the Chicago, Illinois area. She was the first woman elected to the grade school Board of Education in Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
