The sculpture was created from ebony wood in the 1960s. In tis ebony figure Roseberg changed the usual position of Christ's arms and hands to emphasize what would be the most uncomfortable positions the arms could be placed and bound. The ebony wood is hard and the finest detail can be carved into this wood.</p></scopecontent></c><c id="aspace_c32e3573697218739ea1b40d5e2ed972" level="item"><did><unittitle>Conversation</unittitle><unitid>id58713</unitid><unitid type="aspace_uri">/repositories/2/archival_objects/177702</unitid><unitdate datechar="creation" type="inclusive">1988</unitdate></did><scopecontent id="aspace_68879e400b95573050921506b899696b"><head>Scope and Contents</head><p>Sculpture located in Swem Library at the College of William and Mary.
