There are letters from Rob to Vena, Perry Adams to Vera Adams, and Grandma Peterson to Perry and Vera Adams. Most of the letters are from Donald R. Franklin to his mother, Donald R. Franklin to Vera Adams, and William M. Franklin to Vera Adams. The letters from Donald inquire about day-to-day life on the ranch and in the mines of Oregon. Written in France during World War I, on American YMCA "On Active Service with the American Expeditionary Force" letterhead, some letters also illustrate his desire to come home from the war, and France, soon. Letters from William also inquire about day-to-day matters back home in Oregon as he awaits his discharge from the hospital. The three items are an invitation to Perry Adams from the Gauntlet Lodge Number 8 to an annual Thanksgiving Ball, a sketch of a sign for "Hotel Belvedere," and a card with a horoscope reading.</p></scopecontent></c><c id="aspace_a3c9098bee5d8ff2fa2493d354b3081e" level="file"><did><unittitle>Photographs</unittitle><unitid>id78497</unitid><unitid type="aspace_uri">/repositories/2/archival_objects/165353</unitid><unitdate datechar="creation" type="inclusive">1907-1923</unitdate><container altrender="Full Hollinger Box" id="aspace_9e62f56fda2f5bceeec47a5c71f16cea" label="Mixed Materials">Small Collections Box 88</container><container id="aspace_c66a7666e09535ac252ad9d0e517985f" parent="aspace_9e62f56fda2f5bceeec47a5c71f16cea" type="folder">2</container></did><scopecontent id="aspace_a7ae725afab4a72db283242db1255fed"><head>Scope and Contents</head><p>This folder contains twelve photographs and one nitrate negative.
