    <head>Biographical Information:</head>
<p>John Willcox Brown was the son of John Thompson Brown and Mary Edloe (Willcox) Brown. He lived in Petersburg, Va. until 1869 when he moved to Baltimore, Md. He had served in the Confederate Army and was a lt. col of artillery. He married Ellen Turner Macfarland of Richmond in 1867. He was a banker and stock broker with the firm of Brown and Lowndes.</p>  </bioghist>
