<p>The collection contains one letter signed by Albert Edward, Prince of Wales. The collection also contains one print depicting Prince Albert Edward. The items are dated to approximately 1886.</p>  </scopecontent>

    <head>Biographical / Historical</head>
<p>Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, was the eldest son of Queen Victoria, born in 1841. In 1886, Albert Edward was the owner of Sandringham House. The letter in this collection is on letterhead from that estate. As Prince of Wales Ablert Edward represented the royal family in a ceremonial capacity both within Britain and abroad. Following the death of Queen Victoria, he was crowned Edward VII in 1901. He reigned until his death in 1910.</p>  </bioghist>
